About This Project
A sober journey shared in faith and music
Ten Church Street is a project the Lord inspired me to work on and share with you. It operates under this name to protect the privacy of my family and friends and perhaps more importantly to keep the focus on the right things.
I've never written a song in my life. I never aspired to be a song writer or a poet. And yet, the Lord saw fit to gift me these songs and reflections to share with you.
In the Summer of 2025, the Lord called me to write twelve songs about my sober journey and share them with as many people as possible. When I'm inspired to write, I take it to prayer and God willing, the lyrics come.
I'm a drummer. I don't play another instrument. I use AI to conceptualize the song. I iterate and refine the prompts to produce a working draft. Then I take it to the recording studio and with the help of some amazing musicians we arrange, perform and produce the final, human song.
Guiding Principles
Faith
Spiritual renewal comes first. This project is grounded in a Catholic journey of surrender, grace, mercy, and a relationship with God. The songs are an expression of my journey, shared in a way that hopefully helps others.
Authenticity
The lyrics come from prayer full stop. Then I use AI to sketch out musical ideas, and the songs are then produced and performed by my talented friends, to whom I'm most grateful.
Anonimity
There is a real person behind these songs, but the out of respect for the tradition of anonymity valued in recovery, Ten Church Street keeps an anonymous posture to protect family privacy and keep attention on the music and the message.
