New EP Released
Ten Church Street is an anonymous, faith-rooted music project about recovery, surrender, grace, and starting over.
Origins
This project started in the summer of 2023, on the night after I returned from a family summer vacation, I had a strange dream that woke me up. Then I did something I’d never done before: I wrote it down. The next morning, the lyrics to what would become my first song poured out.
Months later, I began my sober journey and a profound spiritual experience healed me and inspired me to join a prison ministry . As a drummer, I lacked the language to bring my lyrics to life, so I set them aside. Several months later, after discovering AI music generation I thought, “What if I fed this app my lyrics?” Even though I was new at AI music prompts, the results were amazing. I took it to prayer and the message was very clear: “Write twelve songs about my journey, and share them with as many people as possible.”
What Is Ten Church Street?
Ten Church Street is an anonymous, faith-rooted music project about surrender, grace, mercy, and a relationship with God. Grounded in the Catholic faith and shaped by lived experience, the music is about finding hope, healing, and freedom—and helping anyone who’s searching for a way forward know they’re not alone.
Guiding Principles
Faith
Spiritual renewal comes first. This project is grounded in a Catholic journey of surrender, mercy, grace and a personal relationship with God. The songs are an expression of my journey, shared in a way that hopefully helps others.
Authenticity
I’m not a songwriter. I’ve never written a poem in my life. The lyrics come from prayer, full—stop. Then I use AI to sketch out musical ideas, and the songs are then produced and performed by my talented friends, to whom I’m most grateful.
Anonymity
There is a real person behind these songs, but the focus is not on him. In respect for the tradition of anonymity valued in recovery, Ten Church Street keeps an anonymous posture to protect family privacy and keep attention on the music and the message.
